A Writer's Madness

A journey through my mind is like the Labyrinth (minus David Bowie). Creepy critters are around every corner. Millions of ideas are pinging around like paintballers at war on trampolines. Trust me, it can be painful. I start a story line, my ADHD kicks in and another story line is born. So, now I sit with not just one, but seven books started through the first chapter. Many of them are even set up to possibly be sequels. Where does the madness end I ask?? I want to focus on just one, for pete's sake! At this rate I will never finish the first novel. Who knew staying on task would be so hard? Welcome to my madness. (Insert best maniacal laugh here)

I have been writing poetry since my teen years. I won't tell you how long that has been, I don't want to show my age and all. :) Some of it may be a bit doom and gloom, but I try to write what I know or feel. I believe you have to go through the darkness before you can appreciate the light. I published a few of my works in a short book on Amazon Kindle. The Chess Game by Lily Stephens

Life is like a game of chess,
The “Master” moves us all in turn.
To the Pawns we are all the same,
What happens next is of no concern.

Now, you are here,
It is your move.
You have never felt so much fear,
Because you know you have so much to lose.

Slowly the game goes by,
Moving piece by piece.
You are in trouble now.
The next move could make your life cease..............
