PetSmart.....grrr!

I have a wire dog kennel for my home. Unfortunately the tray on the bottom has broken. After searching the web for a new tray, I found the best deal at PetSmart. Being that they are a reputable company, I felt secure in ordering from them. I selected the tray that was closest (within 1/2") to what I measured the kennel to be (my mistake for assuming it would fit). After waiting over a week, it finally arrived. I opened the package to find that the tray is several inches to long & too wide. Well, the next logical thing to do is to send it back and get a smaller size. However, I just read the return policy, which I guess I should have read before ordering. You cannot make exchanges through the mail, and the customer is responsible for shipping charges to return the item. I have not seen other companies that have suggested the customer pay the shipping, a stocking fee yes, but not shipping. After calculating the shipping it will cost $20+ to send it back depending on the location it is sent to. I could take it back to a retail store, except the closest one is an 1 1/2 - 2 hr. drive. So here I sit with a new tray I can't do anything with and my pocket is $50 lighter.
